DEPARMENT OF STANDARDIZATION
The department was brought into being to execute the Decision of the Presidium Bureau of the Academy of Sciences of the UkSSR N 296-B of June 21,1974 on the base of the Institute Order N 47 of April 19,1982
In its activities the department is guided by “The Standard Statement of the Scientific-Research (Design) Department (Laboratory, Bureau) of Standardization in scientific-research and design organizations” RD 34-74 confirmed by the USSR Gosstandart on March 28,1974.
Nowadays the department is guided by “The Standard Statement of the Standardization Servece” R 50-063-96 confirmed by the Derzhstandart of Ukraine on February 29,1996.
The problems facing the department, its rights, duties, subordination, contacts have been determined by the “Regulations about the Standardization Group of the DonIPHt of the NAS of Ukraine” conformed with the GOS (Gosstandart) of the NAS of Ukraine.
The main tasks of the Department of Standardization are:
· participation in the development of the state standards; the development of the enterprise standards, and other scientific and technical documents by the Institute themes;
· scientific and technical maintenance of the scientific and technical developments (STD), OKR, OTR ranging from the design of a request for proposal to passing the work to a customer;
· a standardized control of the concluding documents (reports about STD, OKR, OTR, specifications, testing methods, technological maps);
· organizational steps as to the introduction of the standards and other scientific and technical documents into the scientific and technical and production activities of the Institute;
· keeping the stocks of the scientific and technical documents – the state standards, OSt, STP, DSTU, directories, catalogues. At present the fund comprises more than 5000 documents on the Institute themes.

DEPARMENT OF PATENTS AND LICENCES
Head of the department - Gennady N. MANYANIN.
The department consists of three patent specialists. One of the – G.N.Manyanin – has worked in the Institute since 1976 and is a Ukrainian patent charge.
Since the foundation until recently the Institute scientists have made more than 800 applications on the investigation and development themes carried out in the Institute, of which 475 have been defended by the USSR author’s certificates and the patents of Ukraine and Russia. A large share of the Institute developments has been defended in the fields of hydroextrusion and hydrostatic development of materials, production of solid-alloyed and ceramic materials, powder metallurgy, and mining art. For example, more than 15 inventions deal with the techniques and devices for obtaining highly accurate thin wire of different purposes, as well as with the so-called packet way of a hydrostatic extrusion of a microwire which find its industrial use. Know-hows are held in this direction.
